Avengers Endgame Google search easter egg lets you replicate Thanos' 'snap

MARVEL  Studios’ Avengers Endgame has turned out to be one of the most hyped-up fiction movies of the year. Releasing on April 26 (tomorrow) in India, the movie is said to have witnessed the highest number of ticket sales for the opening weekend. And as expected, Google is trying to get the most out of the Avengers Endgame trend. The search giant has an easter egg when you search for the term ‘Thanos’.

As a part of the easter egg, one can replicate the movie character’s infamous ‘snap’ that wiped out half the universe’s population in the Infinity War movie, turning them to dust. A similar effect can be seen in the search results, with the urls and words turning into dust, leaving the page completely blank. It is worth adding that this easter egg is not live in all the regions for now and may take some time for you to show up. But it doesn’t mean that you can’t try. Here’s what you need to do:

Open Google Search on your desktop and type ‘Thanos’. In the search results, you will be able to see the ‘Infinity Gauntlet’ in the search card on the right side beside the name ‘Thanos’. Click on that and a little animation of the gauntlet doing the ‘snap’. After the animation, the content from the page will start turning into dust as you scroll up and down. This is how it looks:

This easter egg comes few days after Google teamed up with Marvel to introduce new Avengers Playmoji in Playground app. The new characters include War Machine, Thor, Black Widow, Rocket, and Captain Marvel. They join the existing characters - Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Nebula, and Okoye.

Twitter also promoted Avengers Endgame movie by introducing over 40 new hashtag emojis for almost all the superhero characters.
